Phone Number Lookup
Why would you want to do a phone number lookup? Perhaps you’re just curious about who called you and you are too embarrassed to call the number back. Maybe you are dealing with a stalker and want to know who it is and to deal with the police with regard to getting back the stalker. It could be that a company is bothering you and you are sick of the sales calls and want to take action or find out if the company is even really legitimate. There are a number of reasons why you’d want to do a phone number lookup and fortunately, the process isn’t too difficult.
A phone number lookup begins with having the area code and number you need to look up. If the number is local, the phone company has reverse phone number lookup books that you can use. They make reverse phone number lookup books in yellow pages and white pages. You can get the name and address of whoever it is that is calling you or who has given you their number. For example, if a guy gives you his phone number and you want to see if his name is the same as the one he gave you, you can do a reverse phone number lookup in order to find out his real name and address before you actually call him back.
In some instances, the phone number is a cell phone or a long distance number that is too far away to use a local phone number lookup book. In such cases, you need to use the Internet. The Internet has websites that will do it for free or for a fee. There are a number of sites that will give you free names, ages and addresses but won’t be able to do a cell phone number. Other sites that cost you a subscription fee have many of the cell phone company’s numbers along with white page and yellow page numbers so you can give almost any number and have a good chance of getting the name and address of the person who owns the number.
Of course, if you’re dealing with a stalker who is breaking the law, you can almost always get the number back to you if you contact the police, who have a lot more resources in the area of phone number lookup. They can look up all but cell phones that are purchased to use phone cards with them. These are practically untraceable. Fortunately, such phone numbers are less common than cell phone numbers that have a name and address associated with them.
In some cases, the information you get back is really detailed and includes the phone number, an address and a map as to how to get to the person’s home. You can get directions to their home as well. Some will give you an age as well, if that is available. That’s a lot of information off of a single phone number and will help you find out who it is that called you.
